lone peak big sky

Lone Peak towers over the charming ski village of Big Sky. It is one of the largest resorts in America. It has NO crowds or lines ever. We know you will enjoy this special place.

We need an initial deposit by November 28 to hold space.  Contact us soon

The village at Big Sky, Montana and the ski mountain and Lone Peak make for a great ski vacation!

Big Sky, Montana is Dan the Ski Man’s second favorite resort, right behind Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It has some of the best ski terrain in North America. It is huge and uncrowded. I have never stood in a lift line on my last two tours to Big Sky. The nearest city is Bozeman, which makes it a destination resort. You have to work a bit to get there, but on every level it is so worth it! Every serious skier should visit The Sky at least once in their skier life.
To sweeten an already sweet pot consider this development. The sister resort right next to Big Sky is Moonlight Basin. It is a beautiful, large resort unto itself. It used to require a separate pass or a $20 upgrade to a Big Sky day pass. Big news! Moonlight Basin was purchased by Big Sky over the summer. It is now one huge resort on the same ticket! This is a spectacular development and it bodes well for what already was one of the top resorts in the U.S. Adding Moonlight to the Big Sky mix pushes it off the charts.
We are VERY excited to go back for our third ski tour to Big Sky/ Moonlight Basin. Other than Jackson Hole, there is no other resort that rivals it in America. Join us on our ski in / ski out Big Sky tour and you will see what we mean.

Day trip to Yellowstone Park in a winter snow coach… Interested?

Old Faithful, one of the many wonders you can see on a snow coach visit to Yellowstone. Take a day off from skiing and see one of the most unique parks in the world.

Yellowstone national park in winter time is spectacular. It has all the animals and geysers without the tourists. You can enjoy the park on a vintage snow coach that will show you all the sights of Yellowstone in winter. I have done this tour with my first group and it was wonderful. Take a day off from skiing and go to Yellowstone! The cost is about $150.

Lodging: There are two choices.

The Huntley Lodge in the village of Big Sky is top shelf all the way. It is a wonderful property to enjoy this ski vacation to the max.

A. The most famous place to stay in Big Sky is the Huntley Lodge. Named after the late newscaster, Chet Huntley (who loved Montana), it is right at the base of the slopes and in the heart of the village. The facility is spectacular. The rooms are great, the breakfast is great, the facilities are great. To sum it up, The Huntley is great! We have a block of hotel rooms at the lodge for single and double occupancy.
B. The Bighorn Condos. These are a few minutes walk to the slopes and the village center. The units are modern androomy. There are one, two, and three bedroom units. On my previous two tours, I stayed in these condos and loved them. Each condo’s bedroom has its own bath and there are full kitchens in every unit. If you use a 3 bedroom unit and have 6 people, the price is a bit less than the Huntley lodge. If you are a family or with a group and want to be together, a two or three bedroom condo may be just the ticket for you.
Lodging logistics: We got a fantastic discounted rate for the Huntley Lodge, which can be a pricey property. Because of the deal we were offered, the price differential between the Huntley Lodge and the condos is small. Therefore, we are using the Huntley Lodge as our primary resort for this tour. We are happy to accommodate you and your family/group if you would prefer to stay in a two or three bedroom Bighorn Condo. HOWEVER, you need to provide your own room mates to make the condo work. Call us for clarification on this.

If you would like a room mate we can attempt to provide a same-sex room mate for you to save you this single upgrade. We cannot guarantee this but we usually have success.
*Assumes you are in a filled condo and have a bedroom of your own.
