Riddle me this:

What do marauding pillaging pirates

danpirate-clsup

have in common  with

 the  Godfather?

godfather

And your final answer is???

You have to dig into the annals of Morningstar’s history to know this riddle’s  answer. The pirates were “powder pirates” and “bump buccaneers” who raided the French ski resort of Trois Vallees years ago on Morningstar’s first visit to this awesome region. Insane Morningstar skiers (no shortage of those back in the day) dressed up in full pirate regalia and skied all over Trois Vallee in our Academy Award winning film (lie) entitled “Pirates of the Carabiner”.  Replete with eyepatches and terrifying plastic swords, we captured the ski carnage for our movie. The statute of limitations has now expired, so they cannot prosecute us in France… so we are heading back to the biggest and best ski resort in the world… ARGH!

The Godfather made his appearance in another of our films that was a Cannes Film festival winner (lie).  A foolish skier refused to pay Skiman the money he owed for his ski week in Morzine (Portes du Soleil), France 10 years ago. Skiman discussed this problem with his visiting Italian Godfather. The next morning, said skier awoke to find a ski boot with a foot still in it next to him in bed. (We could not find any horses heads, so we made do for the movie).  The guilty skier has been ‘taken care of’ and all who were present on that ski week learned a lesson they won’t forget. So it is time to return to Morzine.

Morningstar Ski Tours is doing it BIG for our 25th Anniversary Alps trips, and we mean BIG. We are going to offer two ski weeks in March 2019 to the two biggest ski complexes in the world, both in France, both spectacular, and both very affordable.

Further, we are offering a visit to our Godfather’s homeland of Southern Italy for a 9 day exploration of the coolest, non-touristic, region yet: Puglia. 2,500 year old olive trees, great wine and food, scenic  easy day bike rides through the countryside on empty roads, gorgeous seascapes, trullis (hobbit houses), and much more.  We weren’t planning on doing an Italy post-trip, but when Skiman’s Godfather heard that we were coming back this year, he insisted we come to visit him in his homeland of Southern Italy.  He made Skiman an offer he could not refuse. Needless to say: we are going to Puglia!

But seriously, folks… We are pleased  to offer to all our ski and boarder friends, old and new, the opportunity to ride in  two of the biggest ski complexes in the world and to visit one of  the most beautiful regions in Italy.
