Ski in EuropeDo both weeks

from $2,579. Consider this strongly! It is only 2 hours drive between the ski weeks, so you will get a full extra day to ski or shop in 3 Vallees before we have to move on. And consider that you get air, lodging for 14 days, and meals for this price. Honestly, it would be hard to duplicate this deal in any American resorts, and the skiing in the French Alps will blow you away. Life is short…

This year, we have limited air and hotel space for both ski weeks. DO NOT wait too late to deposit! Space will be allocated on first come, first served basis. We don't want to leave anyone behind. The sooner we get deposits, the better chance we will have of increasing our air and hotel allocations.

TROIS (Three) VALLEES

SKi here: Trois ValleesWeek of March 7-15, 2008

from $1399 depending on hotel choice

air, 7 nights, daily meals, transfers

Two years ago, we took 200 people to Trois Vallee. It was the best resort Skiman has skied in 38 years. Unfortunately, this is a very expensive region normally. But by staying in the little village of Brides les Bains which is connected by gondola to the main stations of Meribel, we can offer this tour at a bargain rate. (NOTE: If you prefer to stay in Meribel, we can arrange this for you as well. The cost increase will be substantial but we will be glad to accommodate if this is what you prefer.)
For intermediate skiers, this is paradise. You can ski literally hundreds of miles of groomed trails that will take you to the most beautiful terrain anywhere. For experts, it is beyond description. Skiman and his friends skied here for 13 days with guides and only covered about 15% of the terrain… no kidding!
Of course, we will hire guides for you experts who want to ski the best back country anywhere.Skiing in Trois Vallee

Trust Skiman on this one. This place is the best! Ask anyone who went with us and they will confirm Skiman’s enthusiasm!

Hotels

Trois Vallee at NightAll hotels are a few minutes walk to the gondola station and all are in center of village. For pricing, go to “Nuts and Bolts” page.

We have visited all of our hotel offerings and are confident you will be happy at any of them. They are all quality properties. Of course, the nicest property is the Amelie, reflected in its three star rating. Because it has a very large dining room and bar and common areas, this will be our main base for this tour. Skiman and Lynn will be staying at the Amelie and all our parties and events will be based there.

The Amelie/ La Vanois hotels

Our Hotel - Amelieis a three star property with large rooms and beautiful common areas. There is access to a sauna and hot tub. Breakfast and dinner daily are included in your package. We have only 9 rooms available at the Amelie, first come-first served basis. The La Vanois is connected to the Amelie. It shares the same common areas and the same dining room. The rooms are very large. The La Vanois is a two star hotel with access to three star facilities, a great value! We had 80 people stay there in March 2006 and they enjoyed it very much. An improvement for 2008 concerning meals will be a salad and appetizer bar for grazing before each dinner! We suggested this to owner Christophe, explaining that hungry American skiers like to start munching asap, and he has agreed to make this change for our group. We think it will be a nice addition to the Amelie dining experience.

The Hotel Belvedere

is a wonderful new find, discovered on our scouting visit. This 120 year old mansion was converted into a 2 star hotel 10 years ago. The owner has carefully kept the original old feeling of the building. The rooms are large and have private baths. There is a sauna and hot tub. You take your breakfast at the hotel. For dinner, you eat at another of our hotels (the Altis Val Vert) or at a restaurant a two minute walk from the hotel. This is our least expensive option, but it is a wonderful property. If you don’t mind walking down the street for dinner, you would enjoy this hotel. It is a lovely property at a value price.

Hotel Altis Val Vert

This is a lovely two star hotel owned by the same lady who owns the Belvedere. Sauna and hot tub, nicely appointed rooms, lovely common areas. Breakfast and dinner daily included in your package. We had guests stay there in 2006 and they all enjoyed it very much.

Altis Val Vert: $1459

Another lodging option

If cost is not an issue for you, we will be glad to offer you lodging in the village of Meribel, which is at the top of the gondola arriving from Brides les Bains. If the 20 minute gondola ride is a problem for you and you don’t mind spending more money, Meribel is a good choice for you. Just let us know and we will be glad to meet your lodging needs in Meribel. But, be forewarned: it is much more expensive to do it this way.

PORTES DU SOLEIL

Skiing in Portes du SoleilWeek of March 14-22, 2008

from $1479 to $1639 depending on hotel choice

5 French resorts: Avoriaz, Chatel, Morzine, Les Gets, La Chapelle 4 Swiss Resorts: Campery, Morgins, Torgon, Champoussin, all interconnected.

Incredibly, the interconnected ski areas that make up the French Alps resort of Portes du Soleil (door of the Sun) claim to be bigger than Trois Vallees, the other French behemoth we will ski this March. Come with us to both and decide for yourself which is the biggest! The Portes du Soleil reosrt is nestled in the French Alps just south of Lake Geneva, only 2 hours drive from 3 Vallees. This place has been on Skiman’s radar screen for six years, but it has always been too expensive to visit…. Until now!
We have found several hotels which are anxious to have some American groups visit, and they offered us a wonderful price. We will be staying in Morzine, and 16th century village that is the most charming of all the villages in the circuit. Skiman and Lynn will be in France in June and will have all the scoop for you on our scouting page by late June. We will offer a choice of accommodations and will check them all out while we are there, so it will be easy for us to match your needs with just the right property.

Skiman has dreamed of skinig in Portes du Soleil for many years. It is gonna happen in 2008. Be a part of it!
